Why is it that adults shun on teens having sex? Why is it that adults always say "teens shouldn't have sex", when it's exactly like adults having sex? If the teens don't plan on having a baby, then whats the difference? I mean, if your going to say "because teens don't know how to use condoms", or "because teens don't know about STD's", your wrong. We (teens) get more sex-ed classes/lessons than alot of adults would know nowadays. So seriously, whats so bad about it? |
as an adult with a 16 year old son I would like to say a couple of things.
1) I was a virgin until I was in college. I had sex with a woman I met and did not know. It was nice and I enjoyed it. She thought I was 22 when I was 18. I was flattered. I regretted it when I got married. I found it was something I could not take back.
2) I grew up on a farm and knew about the mechanics of sex. I later learned I knew nothing about the emotions and feelings associated with love. At 48 I feel I cheated myself.
3) I fathered my first guy while in the Navy and taking all the precautions. I also had to be treated for an STD called Chlamydia I got from my partner.
Statistics can be boring. But the Statistics on teenage pregnancy are alarming
* Some 560,000 teenage girls give birth each year. Almost one-sixth of all U.S. births are to teenage women.
* Babies born to young teen mothers have a higher risk of serious health problems.
* Physical and mental birth defects affect many babies born to very young women. The high rate of teenagers having babies is a national health and social problem that demands attention.
I give the same advice most parents do. Abstain, it will be better later when your hormones are more settled. The reason is not to keep them from having fun but, to allow them to grow and experience the fullness of such a pleasant joining. |
Should teens be taught more about sex ed? I'm 16 and I know the fact that there are more ways than having sex to get pregnant. Just because you aren't having sex doesn't mean u still can't get pregnant. The pull-out method is like playing russian roulette and foreplay alone can also cause pregnancy. Any form of protection should be used in any sexual activity. The problem is, teens only see sex as a reason to use protection. Do you guys think more sex ed is necessary to get this through more of ou heads? |
| I think teens know all about sex ed they just believe it can never happen to them because they are invincible. Another theory is they believe the benefits will outweigh the risk of an STD or getting pregnant. I don't think there is anything we can do about the rate of teen sex besides have parents explain what is morally wrong and the consequences more thoroughly. |
Why do u think so many more teens are having sex now a days? It seems like more and more teens are having sex and becoming sluts. |
having sex doesn't necessarily make you a slut
if you have sex with a boyfriend or someone you are in love with and know very well it's not slutty
people have alcohol which influences you now, and drugs too
also its kind of the society we live in
the media focuses on sex, there is so much hype about it a lot of teens end up wanting to try it |
Why does it seem like the more sex education teens get the higher the teen pregnancy rates get? Back in the 1950's when there was no sex ed, no clinics, no birth control and abortion was illegal teen pregnancy rates were very low.
Now here in permissive 2009 - we have all of the above and the UK has the highest teen pregnancy rate in Europe. |
| yeah, good point i never thought of, maybe parents should teach thier guyren/teens. but also there is so much stuff on sex on the internet and i think most young boys learn about sex from porn, so theres not much you can do to stop this |
How is it that teens are getting more sex than adults? I have been noticing that teens are having more sex than adults. Not only that some adults haven't gotten any while like 13 year olds are getting action. Why is this and what's up with that! I feel sorry for the guys who are struggling and trying to find a gf while like some of these guys have gf's, sex and love. What do you think? |
These guys don't have girlfriends and love, just sex. It's all about peer pressure and doing what's cool right now. And their adult parents aren't educating them properly, or they're making them so mad that they rebel and do the very things they're forbidden from doing.
Adults have mostly found out that sex does not equal love, and it's not something you want to just give out for free. The teenagers will be in that mindset someday. |
Why are most teens having sex? I feellike the only verrgin around! ? it's wiers. Dose nobodywant to save for marrage anymore?( not saying I do, I've never had to think bout it). Everyonei know is having sex or atleast that's what it seems like? So why are more teens having sex? |
The answer is simple. IT FEELS GOOD!
Teens have always been having tons of sex and they always will. Sure there will be a few who save themselves, but those people have always been the minority in society. Peer pressure has nothing to do with it! These are obviously answers that have come from virgins. They try to make sex waaaay harder and more complicated than it needs to be. They don't know a thing so don't listen to them. Take it from me sex feels amazingly awesome. Around middle to high school guys find this out and they start experimenting. IT IS GREAT. Saving yourself is for sixth graders. |
Do you think there would be less Christians on here if they were having sex? I had sex earlier. Now we are just laying around naked. C'hristians teens need more sex! |
No.
Sex breeds more Christians, not less.
If we could keep them from having sex, they would die out.
P.S. Isn't it wonderful to just lay around naked?
Then you have guys, and can't lay around naked any more. |
Why are so many teens having sex and getting pregnant or getting their partner pregnant? Is it a lack of sex education? Should there be more sex education taught in schools? When I was in high school they passed condoms out to students--do they do this still and do you think they should? |
| I don't think condoms should be passed out. It only shows that sexual activity is acceptable. The reason there so many girls are getting pregnant and boy's getting them pregnant is because parents have given way too much freedom to their guyren. This is also why there is such a major amount of younger people are on marijuana and various other drugs or experimenting with it. I have never seen so much sex and drug use ever in my life. Parents need to act like they love their guyren and crack down on them, keep full track of where they go, who they are with and what they do. Educate them on what is right, wrong, acceptable or unacceptable...drill it in their heads! |
Teens: Is sex more exciting or more disappointing when...? you're doing it with a virgin?
I've heard the more experienced person in the relationship absolutely loves having sex with a virgin. Yet, I've heard the complete opposite as well. I'm a virgin, and if I dated a boy who isn't one, I'd be worried that I couldn't meet up to his standards for sex. I'd be worried that I'd disappoint him. I'd constantly be thinking, "He's probably wishing I was as good as his ex." |
I'm a virgin and my boyfriend, who is not a virgin, have been dating for 8 months. We've talked about having sex, like i've considered it, but i'm scared to get hurt, since my ex cheated on me. That was one thing i've asked, if he wanted to do it with a virgin. He told me that a player will think of having sex with a virgin like as pride because he was there first. A guy who actually cares will feel honored because you are choosing them to be your first, the person who you will always remember as being your first. They feel special. Even though you don't know much, they enjoy teaching you, and when you get better, they feel proud because they taught you. The feel special because they are the experienced. The players wont care, they just want to get it in...
Good Luck :) |
Does teaching teen abstinence help or is encouraging teens to have safe sex more beneficial? Abstience is basically sex-deprave, right? My friend tried to stop watching porn altogether, and three weeks he started getting grouchy and went back to porn.
Off topic, Just answer please! :P |
Last decade the teen pregnancy rate went up during a long stretch of abstinence-only sex education.
I think what it comes down to, is that the guys who are going to wait were already going to wait. The guys who weren't didn't, but they should at least be familiar with how to protect themselves.
